TREAT NYC offers a range of high quality private practice therapy services in a collaborative setting that meets the diverse needs of the New York City community. Our leadership is comprised of seasoned practitioners with over 40 years of shared experience between us.
We offer two specialized externship tracks, both of which are focused on the needs of children and families. The Child and Family track offers training in pediatric neuropsychological evaluations. as well as, child and adolescent therapy. Additionally, each extern participating in this track will be responsible for running a therapy group, either through participation in one of our ongoing groups or through the development of a new group to reflect the extern's individual interests. The second track, the Transcultural track, offers similar training in child, adolescent, and group psychotherapy while focusing on transcultural issues, such as working with recent adult and child immigrants.
In addition to the clinical work, all externs will participate in two dyadic and supervisory seminars. One seminar focuses on the interpretation of neuropsychological testing and the other focuses on symbolic meaning in play therapy and transcultural work. These are typically scheduled on Friday's. Other appointments can be scheduled to accommodate patient, staff, and student schedules.
