We run social skills groups for neurotypical elementary school kids that are fun. Our group, Cooperation and Competition: A Therapeutic Activity Group, will help your child to:
• Talk to kids at the lunch table
• Keep it together when they lose at a game, or mess up
• Exercise their “leadership skills” without becoming bossy
• Speak up and say what they want to do when the kids are trying to decide “what next”
• Get asked on play dates
• Make and keep friends
• Succeed in the group projects that are so common in elementary school
Kids don’t learn social skills from a script, they learn them from real world interactions. Our fun play-based group (along with feedback from the group leaders) will help your kid to learn how to get along with other kids, following directions, making friends, and working out disagreements successfully.
