Meet Our Team—Under Construction
BETH KING, PH.D.
Executive Director
I am a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in New York State (License No. 10371).
I received my Ph.D. in 1990 from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to that, I received a Master's Degree from Bank Street College of Education in Counseling, and I have a strong background in Special Education.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and I love my work. I accept adults, children, and couples into my practice. I particularly like working with children and parents who struggle with intertwined issues, such as LD's and consequent emotional difficulties, chronic medical problems (including ASD), or 2E children. In addition, parents frequently come to me for coaching in handling temperamentally difficult children. I have adult children myself, and definitely remember how very challenging and confusing parenting can be at times.
Another passion of mine is using sand tray therapy to help children and adults process the effects of trauma and difficult childhoods. Sand tray therapy is an empirically validated technique that uses miniature objects, placed in a tray of sand, to tell the story of one's many feelings. It bypasses our well-rehearsed words, and really gets at the heart of the matter. It's also creative and expressive, and is very helpful for people who have trouble putting words to their experiences.
I've worked for more than thirty years in a range of social service, educational, child welfare, and medical settings. I have worked with both adults and children, helping them grow and change and to cope successfully with the circumstances of their lives. I am also an experienced supervisor of both pre- and post-doctoral psychologists, as well as social workers. I have trained many practitioners in adult and child therapy and evaluations, including our excellent team of advanced graduate students who can offer reduced fee services to our TREAT NYC clients.

LEVI STOLOVE, LMSW
Staff Psychotherapist
Life is challenging and all of us struggle at times. There are moments when you feel the ground slipping beneath you and you know that you need to change something about the path you are on. It is through challenges that we can come to know ourselves better and gain insight into making the most of the lives we have. It is my passion to help individuals live authentic lives free of the unnecessary limitations we often put on ourselves. Therapy is a unique space to explore obstacles, deepen your understanding of how your mind works, and gain a greater sense of peace, wholeness and safety in the world.
I work with clients who have struggled with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, body image issues, LGBTQIA+ concerns, gender identity, transitioning, emerging adulthood, and stress. No matter what the challenges are, when confronted in a supportive open environment it can yield a stronger, more flexible, resilient individual who is also better able to connect to others. No single approach is right for everyone; I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic theories.
